Controller | Oklahoma City, OK

A non-profit organization with a multi-entity operating structure is conducting a retained search for a Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations function. Reporting to executive leadership, this role will oversee financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, audit coordination, and day-to-day accounting operations across multiple divisions and funding streams.

The Controller will play a critical role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting strategic initiatives, and ensuring operational accountability within a complex, mission-driven environment.

Compensation: $100-120K + Bonus

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting and financial operations across multiple divisions, entities, and funding sources

  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, financial reporting, reconciliations, and management reporting

  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow oversight, and financial analysis for leadership decision-making

  • Supervise and develop a small accounting team while ensuring effective execution of AP, AR, and core accounting operations

  • Ensure compliance with grant, regulatory, audit, and tax reporting requirements, including oversight of external audits and filings

  • Maintain strong internal controls, financial processes, and reporting accuracy across the organization

  • Partner with executive leadership on strategic financial initiatives, special projects, and operational planning

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibility within complex operating environments

  • Prior experience overseeing multi-entity or multi-division financial operations

  • Strong background in financial reporting, close processes, reconciliations, budgeting, and audit coordination

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing accounting staff and day-to-day finance operations

  • Experience with nonprofit, fund, grant, or regulated accounting environments is highly valued

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required; CPA preferred
