Resident District Manager – Integrated Facilities (Higher Ed) | Seneca Lake, NY
A search is underway for a senior Integrated Facilities Management leader to serve as the Resident District Manager for a complex, multi-disciplinary campus environment within private higher education in upstate New York.
This is the most senior onsite facilities executive responsible for full operational, financial, and strategic oversight of all campus physical environments. The role serves as the primary executive liaison to institutional leadership, ensuring the built environment directly supports academic priorities, long-term capital planning, sustainability objectives, and regulatory compliance.
The position requires a highly experienced IFM leader capable of operating at both strategic and operational levels while leading a large, unionized workforce and managing a multi-million-dollar operating and capital portfolio.
Compensation: $135-155K
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the senior IFM executive liaison to institutional leadership, aligning facilities strategy with academic and capital priorities
Lead all campus facilities operations, including physical plant, custodial, grounds, environmental health & safety, energy, and construction functions
Oversee full financial stewardship of operating and capital budgets, including forecasting, controls, and contract compliance (multi-million-dollar portfolio)
Direct lifecycle asset management strategy and multi-year capital planning initiatives
Provide executive oversight of construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects from planning through execution and closeout
Lead and develop a large, unionized workforce across multiple disciplines, ensuring performance, safety, and service excellence
Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior institutional stakeholders, including executive leadership and governance bodies
Ideal Candidate Profile
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Integrated Facilities Management or similarly complex, multi-site operations
Minimum 5+ years in a Director-level or equivalent senior leadership role with full operational accountability
Proven experience in higher education or similarly complex campus environments (hospital, public sector, or large institutional campuses considered)
Strong background managing unionized workforces and multi-disciplinary operational teams
Demonstrated financial leadership managing both operating and capital budgets at scale, including forecasting and long-range planning
Executive presence with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders and delivering operational excellence in complex environments
