Overview
A retained search is underway for a Senior Veterinarian to join a high-quality, multi-doctor small-animal practice in the Boston area. This is a clinical leadership role within a growing hospital environment, offering broad responsibility across patient care, team development, and operational support. The position is designed for an experienced DVM ready to step into a more influential role with clear progression toward broader operational leadership as the practice expands service coverage and scale.

Compensation: $160-180K

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver advanced medical and surgical care for companion animals, primarily dogs and cats

  • Perform routine and complex procedures including diagnostics, soft tissue surgery, and dentals

  • Lead clinical standards across the hospital in partnership with operational leadership

  • Mentor and support associate veterinarians and clinical support staff

  • Collaborate with regional and hospital management to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient operations

  • Engage with clients to provide education, treatment planning, and long-term care guidance

  • Support development of a high-performing clinical team as the practice expands toward extended hours of operation

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent, eligible for state licensure in Connecticut

  • Minimum 5+ years of clinical experience in small-animal veterinary practice

  • Proven experience in a multi-doctor hospital or group practice environment

  • Demonstrated ability to provide both medical and surgical care independently

  • Prior exposure to clinical leadership, mentoring, or practice-level operational collaboration

  • Strong communication skills with a client-first, team-oriented approach
